Alas Christmas is finally here! The magic is in the air! A time for simple joys that fills the home and the heart. Together, baking, decorating, wrapping gifts, and putting up the Christmas tree! There are many ways to prepare for the holidays, and the simplest things are the most cherished.
Incorporate nature into your home by making your citrus garland. Dried Lemons (or oranges) is a simple, cost effective and environmentally friendly way of decorating for the holiday. Drape it across a table, string over windows or turn them into gift toppers / ornaments! Simple, pretty and festive! Not to mention a fun activity with your kids.
You will need:
Approximately 4 Lemons
Sharp Knife
Parchment Paper
Baking Sheet
Twine and Scissors
Preheat the oven to 250 degrees. Thinly slice the lemon about ¼” thick and pat them dry with a paper towel. Lined a baking sheet with parchment paper and placed a single layer of lemon slices and baked for 2.5 hours. Flip slices midway at about 1.25 hours. Begin to remove slices that are beginning to brown. Once cooled, poke 2 holes about ½’ inch apart. Thread the lemon slices and viola!
Savour this time, do the crafts, and take a picture to remind yourself that slowing down and finding joy is a simple things as well you’ll truly find the beauty this season. Happy Holidays!
Love,
